The clinical and academic journey of the Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist involves a rigorous 3-year program that is recognized as a significant source of financial, emotional and physical stress posing real threats to wellness in this student population. Despite these facts, little evidence exists that identifies the most effective mode for combatting stress and improving wellness in this population. The purpose of this DNP scholarly project was to identify if a student-centered wellness event with anti-stress activities and wellness education would be an effective mode for improving SRNA stress and wellness. Feedback received from students through pre and post event survey responses supported the original hypothesis that holding an annual wellness event improved student perception of the NAP culture of wellness, enhanced the student to student support system, improved knowledge of SRNA risk factors, and increased awareness of SRNA
specific wellness resources. Given this positive feedback, future wellness events should be considered by not only the USF NAP but also by more programs nationally with increased education and awareness regarding SRNA wellness promoted locally and nationally.
